A Day No Pigs Would Die
Robert Newton Peck

The new things that are added to the original problem as the novel progresses is that he continues not to skip school and stays in school. The plot twists and unexpected events that happen as the novel goes on is that Rob doesn't skip school, and that the cow he helped give birth to is Mr. Tanner's and Mr. Tanner gave Rob a pig for helping the cow. The style of the novel is old and country because the people talk country. It is hard to follow the events because it skips from one event to the next and the events are short. The age group the novel is aimed to is about fourteen to eighteen because there are some words that are confusing to understand. The main theme emerging in this book is that when you give you shall receive because Rob gives help to the cow by helping her give birth, and he received a pig in return. The new characters introduced in the story are Mr. Tanner, and Aunt Matty. Mr. Tanner's purpose was to give Rob a pig for helping his cow give birth. Aunt Matty's purpose was to help Rob with his grades because he got a D in English class, and to know that Rob knows that she cares for him. I do want to finish this novel even if it's not required to finish because I want to know what happens in the end because the story hooks my attention, and I don't want to put the book down. The plot is holding my attention because I will not know what will happen to Rob next because there are so many events that are happening to him.
